Todd Hoffard

Todd Hoffard played 9 years in the professional game for various clubs both indoors and outdoors in the NPSL, USISL and A-League.  He is also a veteran of coaching in Major League Soccer where he has spent 6 seasons working with some of the top goalkeepers in league history, including Nick Rimando and Luis Robles.  Most recently, he was the Goalkeeper Coach for Real Salt Lake in Major League Soccer from 2017-2020.  At RSL he was the Director of Goalkeeping for the club where his primary duties were with the 1st team goalkeepers, but he also oversaw the USL and Youth Academy goalkeepers and goalkeeper coaches.  He established a GK Curriculum for the club that has seen 2 Academy goalkeepers sign MLS contracts in the past 2 years!

His other stint in MLS was with NY Red Bulls (MLS) during the 2011 and 2012 seasons when he was their 1st Team GK Coach.  His strengths of developing and nurturing young goalkeepers was seen with the emergence of Ryan Meara and Luis Robles.  Both had breakout seasons and one went on to become the Ironman of MLS.  In 2011, Todd was the GK Coach for the MLS All-Stars when they played Manchester United at Red Bull Arena.  During his tenure in New York, not only was he part of two MLS playoff seasons, but the team also won the Emirates Cup in London which included: Paris St. Germain, Boca Juniors and Arsenal.  His pro coaching experience also includes coaching for the PA Roar in the Major Indoor Soccer League.

For 3 years, Todd was a GK Coach for the United States Girls Youth National Teams at the U14-U20 Levels at various National Team Camps.  Part of his other duties was being part of the goalkeeper scouting network for US Soccer at various nationwide tournaments.  During this time, he also coordinated the US Soccer Training Centers for Eastern PA which scouted and tracked the top players in the region.

Todd is continually asked to present for various coaches education courses and presentations and is a regularly featured guest on numerous goalkeeper talk shows/podcasts.  He has published The Goalkeeper Handbook and a DVD which outlines not only goalkeeper training sessions that he consistently uses, but also covers the technical aspects of the position.

For the past 28 years he has owned and operated ONE on ONE Goalkeeping which is a nationwide goalkeeper camp/clinic business.  He has organized programs in over 12 states and two other countries!  Hundreds of goalkeepers have come through his programs that he has helped develop and guide through their player pathway.  In 2020 he developed The Virtual Goalkeeper that is a classroom program which has players from across the United States working with him weekly.  There is video analysis, lectures on tactical situations, nutrition, mentality and so many other things to help the young goalkeeper.
